COUPLES
We approach work with couples using a systemic approach to treatment, which means addressing the couple as a dynamic entity - two people who interact in an ever changing and often surprising way. In many ways couples are great examples of the familiar phrase "the whole is greater or different than the sum of its parts". In everyday terms, we attempt to leave "fault" behind and instead address the wounds and pain that has resulted in blame and anger. Whether you are dealing with relationship issues in dating, marriage, living together, divorce, re-entering the dating world, or co-parenting after a divorce, we often recreate patterns from our past relationships whether we realize it or not. Roadblocks occur when these patterns are no longer useful or productive. While these patterns are familiar, they often get in the way of growth and satisfaction. Working on communication issues and skills and overcoming patterns from our pasts is essential to creating the loving and supportive relationships that everyone deserves.
